Across the events, 539,270 paper packaging items were selected for recycling, thanks to the collaboration between Seda, Comieco and the audience. Among the key innovations were paper beer cups, developed according to ecodesign and design-for-recycling principles.

Seda, McDonald’s and Comieco showcase a circular economy success story in fast food
A new study presented by Comieco, in collaboration with Seda and McDonald’s, shows how the fast-food sector can become a successful model for the circular economy. The research found that 84% of waste generated in the restaurants analysed is separately collected, while paper packaging achieves an 87% recycling rate, highlighting the effectiveness of renewable materials and collaboration across the entire value chain.
