In 2026, Seda International Packaging Group renews its support for FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano (Italian National Trust), reaffirming a partnership based on a shared responsibility towards future generations: to protect and promote Italy’s heritage, not only through its places and beauty, but also through the knowledge, skills and culture of making that shape its identity.

“Italian heritage is not only what we have inherited from the past, but also the knowledge and skills we are able to preserve, develop and pass on to future generations,” says Gianfranco D’Amato, Chief Operating Officer of Seda International Packaging Group. “Manufacturing tells the story of local communities and, through innovation and creativity, projects it into the future. For a company like Seda, which was founded in Southern Italy and has grown internationally while remaining firmly rooted in its origins, standing alongside FAI means contributing to the protection and promotion of this extraordinary tangible and intangible heritage.”

This vision is particularly aligned with the 15th edition of the FAI Autumn Days, taking place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October. This year’s edition places a specific focus on Made in Italy, highlighting knowledge, manufacturing traditions and production excellence alongside Italy’s historical, artistic and landscape heritage.

Manufacturing, culture and identity: from Rome to Naples

The national programme of the FAI Autumn Days was presented on 30 September in Rome, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Palazzo Piacentini: a particularly meaningful setting for an edition that connects cultural heritage, the culture of making and Italian production excellence.

Seda was represented at the national presentation by Raffaela Gargano, Head of Marketing and Communication, who shared the experience of an Italian industrial company that has built its international growth by combining manufacturing expertise, innovation and sustainability.

On 1 October in Naples, the programme for the FAI Autumn Days in Campania was presented at the Polo delle Arti Caselli Palizzi, with a preview visit to the rooms of the Museum of Industrial Art and its historic workshops. Cristian Fuschetto, Communication and External Relations Director at Seda, took part in the conference.

The Palizzi is a particularly meaningful expression of this year’s theme: a place where art, education and craftsmanship come together, and where the ability to transform materials, create beauty and pass on skills becomes heritage in its own right. The Polo will exceptionally be open to the public on 10 and 11 October.

Seda and FAI: the culture of safeguarding

There is one word that particularly captures the meaning of the relationship between Seda and FAI: safeguarding.

To safeguard means recognising value and taking responsibility for protecting it over time. This principle is also inherent to the very nature of packaging: a combination of manufacturing, technology and innovation designed to protect food, preserving its quality, integrity and safety.

FAI expresses this same culture of safeguarding on another level: it protects beauty by caring for places, landscapes, works of art, memories and knowledge so that they can continue to be discovered, experienced and passed on to future generations.

From this perspective, the partnership with FAI goes beyond supporting individual initiatives. Safeguarding does not simply mean preserving what we have inherited, but creating the conditions for it to continue generating value.

Environmental protection has also long been part of Seda’s industrial culture. The use of paper and certified renewable fibres, together with the development of solutions aligned with the principles of the circular economy, reflects a model in which innovation and growth go hand in hand with the responsible use of resources. Seda uses exclusively certified raw materials, ensuring the origin and traceability of the fibres used.

The same idea runs through the FAI Autumn Days: protect, share and pass on. By opening places that are normally inaccessible and bringing attention to the stories and knowledge they preserve, FAI transforms conservation into experience.

For Seda, standing alongside FAI means sharing this responsibility towards the future: safeguarding what we have received so that it can continue to live, evolve and generate new value. Safeguarding beauty means protecting it and making it known, but above all turning it into a force for building the future.
